Afeez holds a BSc.Ed and M.Ed in Early Childhood Education from the University of Lagos. In 2015, after his first degree, he ranked as top 2 in his class and was rewarded with an appointment as a lecturer in the same university. The early career young lecturer began his PhD. in Nigeria in 2018 but paused after 2 years for more adventrous learning opportunities. Due to his penchant for knowledge, Afeez started a fully funded PhD in 2021 in America.
Afeez is currently a doctoral student in Early Childhood Education/Special Ed at Oakland University, Michigan, USA.
Afeez is at present a university lecturer at the University of Lagos, Nigeria. He is also the consultant head of school/Deputy Director of Bilingual International Academy Abuja, where he must ensure that learning of the children meets global standards.
In 2024, Afeez was invited by a leading bank in Africa Guaranty Trust Bank (GTB) where he was a panelist for their annual Autism Conference and served a consultant for 5 days meeting parent of children with special needs for 5 days through one-on-one support.
In America: Afeez is required to create a community of learners among African American children to make them have a trajectory that helped them attain lofty educational heights. He supports teachers in different preschools, engages with parent and community leaders, and provides professional support when needed. Afeez is a qualitative researcher with a special interest in learning about parents’ and teachers’ experiences when working with children.
Afeez is a lead trainer for the Color of Autism Foundation in Michigan, United States of America.
Afeez is a trained literacy expert in Literacy Essential Practices in the state of Michigan, USA.
Afeez is also trauma-informed, trained, and supports children appropriately.
Due to his enviable prowess in Special Education, he supports children with suspected and diagnosed cases of disorders. The focus of his dissertation is on experiences of parents of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Afeez has worked with over 1000 children both in Nigeria and in America. Afeez embodies strong leadership traits and mentorship charisma with a host of over 20 successful mentees in the field of Early Childhood Education.
Afeez is presently enrolled in Harvard Business School through the Social Enterprise Initiative (Upswell Forum 2024). He is presently enrolled in an organizational leadership class.
Afeez founded The Child Expert Clinic, an online forum where parents, teachers, caregivers, policymakers, educational leaders, and professionals learn the best practices to help children be their best. At present, he has produced over 90 videos educating parents about child development and behavioral patterns in children.
